Manager dupes petrol pump owner of Rs 17.38 lakh

KOTA: A petrol pump owner in Bundi was duped of Rs 17.38 lakh by his manager at petrol pump on bypass road. The accused manager for over last two years fabricated fake debit memos of vehicles from government district pool and showed them in dummy debit account of government pool at the petrol pump. The forgery and manipulation of amount surfaced only last week following which the owner of the pump lodged a police complaint against the manager on Saturday.


Raj Kumar Jain, manager at Birla Brothers' petrol pump was booked under section 420 and 406 of IPC for allegedly duping and manipulating an amount of Rs 17.38 lakh from the petrol pump, said Ramnath Singh, circle incharge (CI), city kotwali, Bundi. The accused manager around August 2015 developed a dummy balance account under the name Zila Pool CCA-Jaipur as vehicles from government department are regular fuel consumers at the petrol pump and then for over two years continued to fabricate fake debit memos of the fuel to government vehicles and pocketed the cash, said Bhagwan Singh, SI at city Kotwali.


On the report by the pump owner Jagdish Jethaliya, police lodged a case and further investigation into the matter is underway, he said.
