Ujjain: Activists of Swarnim Bharat Manch will stage a demonstration in front of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Bhavan located headquarters of Ujjain Municipal Corporation on Monday at 11.30 am.
Manch spokesman Abhay Narwariya stated that the members have launched the agitation as the authorities have expressed their plan not to supply drinking water daily from October 15 to 21 on account of Dilwali festival.
He further said that Mayor Meena Jonwal had announced to provide water daily, but now the UMC is saying that they cannot fulfill the promise due to some technical problems. Narwariya said that authorities concerned know well that present system of alternate day water supply will not cater the needs of citizens in view of Diwali festival. Yet they have backtracked their promise which only shows their least concern and responsibilities towards people.
Meanwhile, mayor along with PHED officers inspected Ambodia plant of Gambhir reservoir. During the inspection, she was informed that regular water supply cannot not be ensued owing to technical snags in the pump. She directed them to repair the motor as early as possible.
