2 arrested for Rs 10 lakh theft

BHAVNAGAR: Two thieves were arrested from Ahmedabad on Monday for stealing Rs 10,000 from a trader in Bhavnagar on Saturday.
Police had booked four persons for the theft. Police have refused to divulge the identity of the accused, citing confidentiality of the investigation. According to details of the case, Gulam Haider Varteji (40), a resident of Dil-Bahar Society, Dhood ni Dairy Road at Bhavnagar, had parked his two-wheeler at Ghogha Gate Chowk on Saturday to go for shopping on Saturday.
"While he was away shopping, four persons broke open the glove box of his vehicle and decamped with Rs 10 lakh kept inside it. We found out the number of the culprits as they had been caught on CCTV camera installed near the spot," said inspector K C Jhala of C-Division police station of Bhavnagar.
"Meanwhile, we received a tip-off about the whereabouts of two thieves who had escaped to Ahmedabad and nabbed them. The duo is being brought to Bhavnagar. During their interrogation, we will find out about their accomplices and crack the case," added Jhala.
