Bicholim school committee threatens strike
TNN | Oct 17, 2017, 03:40 ISTBicholim: The school management committee of the Government Primary and Secondary Central School, Bicholim, has threatened to go on a 'rasta roko' agitation if the education department fails to appoint a headmaster and enough of teachers for the school by October 30. This decision was taken during the annual general body meeting of school held on October 16. Close to 100 members of school management committee attended the meeting.
Later, the members submitted a memorandum of demands to the directorate of education. Their demands also include appointing a drawing and a music teacher, a full-time peon, security guard and two labors for maintaining cleanliness. They have also demanded a computer room and science laboratory for students, clarification about pending work of the new school building and bus facility for the students.
