Man dies of dengue hemorrhagic shock syndrome

Coimbatore: A 41-year-old farmer died of dengue in a private hospital here on Saturday night. The deceased was identified as M Senthil, of Periyakadu near Tiruchengode in Namakkal district.
Senthil was admitted to the Royal Care Super Speciality Hospital here on Friday evening with fever and he died without responding to the treatment on Saturday night. The hospital medical superintendent, Dr R Dharani Priya, has mentioned the cause of the death as dengue hemorrhagic shock syndrome and multi organ dysfunction. Senthil, the source said, owned a borewell rig and one of his workers, identified as Johu, 40, Madhya Pradesh, was diagnosed with dengue a few weeks ago. "Johu was admitted to the Salem government hospital," the source added. TNN
