Soldier laid to rest with full military honours

District Collector V Vinay Chand and soldiers paying tributes to Tallapureddy Ramakrishna Reddy at Obulapuram in Prakasam district on Saturday | Express

ONGOLE: Last rites of a 21-year-old brave soldier Tallapureddy Ramakrishna Reddy popular as T K Reddy among his colleagues and friends, were performed in his native Obulapuram village of Giddaluru mandal in Prakasam district on Saturday with full military honours.Reddy was among the two killed in an unprovoked attack by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control in Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. His body was brought to his native village and several offered floral tributes to the departed soldier.

On behalf of the State government, District Collector V Vinay Chand, SP Satya Yesubabu and Giddalur MLA Ashok Reddy visited the village and paid rich tributes. Reading out the condolence message from Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, the Collector said that the government has announced `10 lakh as an ex gratia and job for one family member on compassionate grounds. Further, a 300 square yards of house plot will be given, he added.

Assuring all help and protection to the family of the jawan, Vinay Chand hailed the sacrifice of T K Reddy in service to the nation, protecting its borders.
