AIADMK leaders have denied rumours of a rift within the party faction led by Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam.

When a journalist told AIADMK leader V Maithreyan that the recent meeting between PM Narendra Modi and O Panneerselvam had raised questions about a rift between the 'EPS' and 'OPS' camps, he said, "Well, if tomorrow, the chief minister meets the prime minister, then also you will ask the same question....that is not the case."

Maithreyan said the meeting was a "courtesy call."
