Tejas Express: 26 passengers admitted to hospital after food poisoning

NEW DELHI: As many as 26 passengers were today admitted to hospital after consuming food served on the premium train Tejas Express.
The incident happened in the Karmali-Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Tejas Express, when passengers complained of uneasiness after consuming food served by the train’s pantry. The train was then stopped at Chiplun and all passengers were taken to Lifecare Hospital.
"Food samples have been taken for investigation. Total no 230 Breakfast ( 117 Veg + 113 Non Veg ) have been served," said IRCTC in a tweet.
“People have complained of uneasiness after consuming the breakfast. All passengers are out of danger.”
"Director of Catering services is proceeding to Mumbai to follow up the matter....Follow of action and monitoring is being done to ensure proper assistance," said IRCTC in a series of tweets.
CAG had recently criticised Indian Railways over its catering services.
Tejas is among Indian Railways premium trains which runs between Goa and Mumbai.
