Woman shot dead in Dadri, cops suspect marital discord

Greater Noida: A 30-year-old woman, staying alone for the past six months in a one-room rented accommodation next to GT Road, was found dead with gunshot injuries in Nadarganj area of Dadri in Greater Noida late on Saturday night.

The woman received a bullet injury in the head after which she was rushed to a private hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.

The victim, Sushma, was an an original resident of Aligarh.

The police was informed about the crime by a passerby who spotted her bleeding profusely at the gate of her house. The police reached the house and rushed her to the hospital around 10.30pm.

"Some passersby saw the door open and Sushma lying on the ground injured. There was no one at the house to brief about the incident. It appears that someone opened the fire from point blank range," said Nishank Sharma, circle officer, Dadri.

There were no CCTV cameras in the area. Police interacted with locals who said they had no information about the woman.


Investigations revealed that the woman had got married five years ago but later her husband died in a road accident.


"A local man said that the woman had married twice. We have no information about her second husband. It is suspected that there could be a relationship discord behind the murder," said Sharma.


The deceased's mobile number has been put on surveillance. The body has been sent for post mortem and the report is awaited.
