BHUBANESWAR: It’s a one-stop destination for all fashion needs. Shop-A-Flea (SAF), the first of its kind pre-Diwali night market that opened in Bhubaneswar on Saturday, has brought the best of fashion and accessories to the Temple City. The two-day event that is open from 11 am to 11 pm is a gala occasion in the glamour world where designers from Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur and Kolkata besides, a few from Odisha are exhibiting their latest range of festive apparels, jewellery and accessories.
Being hosted at Hotel Crown, the market has 33 stalls selling fashion and lifestyle products and another 10 food stalls dishing out interesting cuisines. For that festive Diwali look, there are options galore. Popular brands in the fashion industry, including those that have showcased their creations at the Lakme Fashion Week, are participating in the unique market.
One can find excellently cut and structured tunics from SOUP by Sougat Paul from Mumbai while CORAL - a first of its kind fashion concept store in Kolkata by designer Vibha Kejriwal - is showcasing clothes in both European and Indian designs. Designers like Parul Goel, Priya Singh, Dia Ajmera (brand PASHA India) and Shruti Modi have brought in interesting designs in gowns, cape dresses, western and office wear. From Odisha, brands like ZOVALA by Harpreet Kaur and RURI4 are participating.
An exclusive collection of traditional handloom sarees and dupattas directly from the weavers are also up for grabs. With the bridal season approaching, the SAF has roped in popular Kolkata-based jewellery designer Vasundhara Mantri who is exhibiting beautifully designed artificial jewellery products like ‘choker’ necklaces done in kundan, temple jewellery pieces and pearl chains, earrings, mang tikas and finger rings. Apart from Vasundhara, brands like Leraki and Saira Jewellery Boutique are showcasing both traditional and modern jewellery items.
There is something for children as well. Brands like Champs Closet, Balloons and Rekhes Collection are selling a wide range of kids fashion products, daily utility items and toys.
Outside the shopping area, there are food options aplenty accompanied by live music so that every visitor can eat to their heart’s content and experience soul soothing music. To unwind after a long day of shopping, try out foot massage at Thai Foot Spa or a spa session by Ganga Spa, which have also set up stalls.
