Security forces nab NSCN(K) cadre in Arunachal

Security forces in Arunachal Pradesh apprehended an NSCN(K) cadre during an operation today, officials said.

The rebel was extorting money and trying to terrorise the local people of Jairampur.


The Jairampur battalion of Rifles, during an operation at Longman village in Changlang district, arrested self-styled Rajapio Yugdi alias Dangche Cena, a Myanmar national, Defence Spokesman Colonel Chiranjit Konwer said.

A pistol and live rounds of ammunition were recovered from his possession, he informed.

During interrogation the cadre admitted to be an active part of the outfit since 1984 and has been a active member of the extortion network in Changlang and Tirap districts.

The cadre had also undergone three months weapons training in Myanmar, the spokesman said.
