Delivery boy flees with Rs 38,000; Gurugram firm files plaint

GURUGRAM: A delivery boy allegedly fled with over Rs 38,400 in cash and a card swipe machine belonging to Fastway Delivery Private Limited, the contractor of the company, told the city police.


The delivery boy, Ramrer, from Bharatpur, Rajasthan was hired recently, contractor Dayal Singh informed the police. On October 3, the day of the incident, Ramrer returned to the company godown in Lakshman Vihar around 2.30pm after delivering the ordered goods to the customers for the day.


At 7.30pm, he excused himself to go to the toilet, and was not seen after that. He left his departure sheet unchecked too, a formality the delivery boys are supposed to do.


Singh said his phone was also switched off immediately. On checking the cash counter, Singh found that Rs 38,400 in cash was missing along with a card swipe machine. The complaint of theft was delayed as Singh was waiting for the delivery boy to return on his own. He finally approached the police on Saturday and lodged an FIR at the Sector 9A police station under sections 381 (theft by clerk) of the IPC.
