TASK signs MoU with former cricketer’s soft skills training firm

Telanagana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) signed an MoU with former cricketer Krishnamachary Srikanth-owned soft skill training company AA Edutech at a function here on Saturday.

At the MoU signing function, both Srikanth and Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao found time to reminisce about a cricket match played in Hyderabad in the 80s. In his speech, Mr. Rao said he happened to watch the 1987 India-Pak cricket match played in Hyderabad when he was just 11-years-old. “I still remember watching the dashing opener Srikanth facing the most feared bowler of those days Wasim Akram. As Srikanth tried to hit Akram, the ball hit him on the temple and he started bleeding profusely. After getting medical attention, Srikanth with three stitches was back at the crease and swung into action,” the Minister recalled. Exhorting students, KTR said like Srikanth, one should not be deterred by temporary setbacks or failures and should face adversities boldly.

During his address, Srikanth asked the students whether they want to be like Dhoni or Virat Kohli and said he would help them realise their dreams if they were ready. “You need many skills, not just academics. I am here to help you. The young dynamic Minister K. T. Rama Rao is here to help you,” he said. He said the youngest State was much ahead of many other States and had come up with unique TASK programme.

Srikanth also praised Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Sriahari and others who were present on the dais. On his part, Mr. Srihari said the renowned cricketer who looked very young was a grandfather. “What do you think of his age? He is 58 and still very active. You all should emulate him,” the Deputy Chief Minister told the students who attended the function at the NIT auditorium here. Students vied with each other to take selfie with the cricketer.
