WARANGAL: In view of local people demanding jobs for their children in the proposed Kakatiya Mega Textile Park coming up at Geesgonda and Sangem mandals of the Warangal rural district, IT minister KT Rama Rao on Saturday promised that the government would try to provide maximum number of jobs to locals especially land losers in the park.
KTR, who inspected the textile park site along with district collector and local peoples’ representatives, said that the government would see that all the eligible locals get jobs in the park. “We would try to accommodate as many people as possible in the park. We would give preference to land losers. If a land loser’s son requires qualification, he would definitely be provided job. We have provided jobs to locals in Pharma City in Hyderabad. We also would do the same here,” he assured. He said that generally the companies who set up their ventures in industrial zones provide unskilled jobs to locals and land losers but the state government was insisting them to provide jobs in all the categories.
“I am aware that companies hardly provide jobs to locals. This would not happen in the case of textile park. We would see that maximum people get jobs. If people are not skilled, we would provide training to them. If needed we would set up a skill development centre in the city,” he said. KTR said the mega textile park would be connected to the upcoming Outer Ring Road.
