Travel Bazaar to showcase Odisha

BHUBANESWAR: THE Odisha Travel Bazaar, a first of its kind initiative to showcase the State's tourism products to stakeholders in the industry, will be held from October 15 to 17.Being organised by FICCI in collaboration with Tourism Department, the event would be inaugurated by Tourism Minister Ashok Panda.

Informing this to mediapersons here on Friday, Tourism Secretary Mona Sharma said at least 55 tour operators and hoteliers from the State will be participating as sellers to showcase and market the tourism products of Odisha. The three-day event will see presence of international and domestic tour operators besides, travel writers, destination wedding planners  and officials of leading airlines. International tour operators from countries like Australia, Cambodia, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sri Lanka, Thailand, United Kingdom, USA and Vietnam will participate.Raul Chakrabarty of FICCI said the USP of the event would be exclusive focus on business of inbound and domestic tourism.

A FICCI-MRSS knowledge paper on ‘Odisha - Towards a new Disha in Tourism’ and a FICCI Yes Bank Knowledge paper on ‘Destination Odisha: Investment Opportunities in Tourism Infrastructure” will be released by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.Three familiarisation trips to Buddhist sites, Golden Triangle and tribal destinations will be organised for the participating tour operators.
