Nagpur: The five-day 14th Multilingual Drama Festival, jointly organized by Vidarbha Hindi Sahitya Sangh, in association with Kala Sagar at Mor Hindi Bhavan, concluded with the staging of three plays on Friday.
'Kahan Gaye Gandhi' was the first play presented by Vibhagiya Sanskrutik Samiti which depicted the present situation in the country and touched upon various issues. The drama rued the ignorant attitude people have towards Gandhian philosophy and his way of leading a simple life. The play highlighted the message of non-violence, hard work and truth that Gandhi propounded all through his life. It gave a subtle message of applying these principles in our life and make the world a better place to live in.
'Aahat', presented by MA Students Mahila Mandal, made the audience to think where the society, grappling with various problems, was headed. The focus was on finding a right path for which hard work was necessary. There are no short cuts to success and one should not give up efforts in adverse situations. The drama thus gave a ray of hope to succeed in life.
'Sakubai', staged by PhD aspirants, presented the story of a woman who goes through a lot of hardships and survives a horrifying rape at a tender age. Sakubai's daughter develops a special bond with her mother when she comes to know about the heinous act and how she fought the societal pressure. The drama kept the audience spellbound.
Hemlata Mishra, Chanda Kulsange, Neelkanth Kulsange and Yogacharya Arvind were the judges for the competition.
