Nokia 8 sale debuts in India at Rs. 36,999; buyers can get 100GB Jio data for free

Nokia 8 was launched in India in September and was slated to go on sale in the country on October 14 via both online and offline channels. While the online availability will debut today, the offline sale started yesterday itself.

Well, the Nokia 8 is available across the major retail outlets all over the country such as Croma, Sangeetha Mobiles, BigC, Poorvika, Reliance, and others. Initially, the smartphone will be available in Steel, Tempered Blue and Polished Blue color options and the Polished Copper variant will be made available a few weeks later. The Nokia 8 will be exclusive to Amazon India online.

Also, there will be some attractive launch offers along with the Nokia 8. the Jio users will get up to 100GB 4G data for free with the device. The buyers will get 10GB 4G data on every Rs. 309 or above recharge and this offer is limited to 10 recharges until August 31, 2018. The buyers will get special access to the Nokia Mobile Care Concierge Service in 50 cities in the country giving them the convenience of availing the services from their home.

The Nokia 8 has many highlights making it the first smartphone to come with some features. The smartphone has a dual camera setup at its rear with the Carl Zeiss optics, Dual Sight technology also called Bothie that lets users click photos using both the front and rear cameras at the same time and merge both into a single photo or video. Also, the device has a full aluminum unibody build as it is made using a single block of 6000 series aluminum. The device is polished rigorously to give it a luxury mirror finish.

To refresh on the specs, the Nokia 8 priced at Rs. 36,999 boasts a 5.3-inch QHD 1440p LCD display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Under its hood, there is an octa-core Snapdragon 835 SoC teamed up with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage that can be further expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card. The smartphone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and will be upgraded to Android 8.0 Oreo by the end of this year.

The Nokia 8 has a 13MP dual camera setup with RGB and monochrome sensors, Zeiss optics, f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, IR range finder, dual-tone flash and a 76.9-degree wide-angle lens. There are connectivity aspects such as 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C port, NFC, and a hybrid SIM card slot. The other aspects include IP54 splash proof rating, fingerprint sensor and a 3090mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0.
