Vidya Balan once again is all set to impress the audience with her role as an RJ, after Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’. Recently the trailer of the ‘Tumhari Sulu‘ was released and it explores this side of her character. The trailer has Vidya playing Sulochana, a housewife who is a regular caller at a radio station and has won many pressure cookers in the contest, until one day she spots an opportunity of becoming a radio jockey (RJ). Neha Dhupia plays the radio station producer in the film and has an idea of transforming the “saree-vali bhabhi to a late night RJ”. And to everyone’s surprise, Sulu is custom made for the job. With a voice as smooth as honey, she becomes an instant hit with the listeners.
However, her new-found success isn’t all good news. Her husband complains of her not giving the family enough time anymore and a montage teases more problems that she would have to tackle. Actor Manav Kaul plays Vidya’s husband in the film along with popular Mumbai RJ Malishka who plays a radio jockey in the film.

The trailer’s biggest pull of course is Vidya’s performance as an ambitious and lovable woman, the bright, colourul look of the movie and lastly, the brand new version of ‘Hawa Hawai’. The song was originally appeared in 1987 film ‘Mr India’ and had Sridevi dancing to it. The song gets a new life with slick beats and it fits the temperament of the movie just right.
Vidya’s upcoming film ‘Tumhari Sulu’ is perhaps the most anticipated film of the year, with her last film ‘Begum Jaan’ not doing so well at the Box Office. The film is directed by Suresh Triveni and will release on November 17.
