Over twelve kgs of seahorse was seized and two persons arrested in this connection at Thondi near here today, police said.
The seizure was made when "Q" branch police, acting on a tip-off, checked the bags of two men, waiting at the bus stop, they said.
A search of their bags led to the recovery of 12.5 kgs of seahorse, police said adding it was meant to be smuggled to Sri Lanka.
Seahorse, an endangered species, is said to be used in medicinal preparations.
