Mohanlal and Priyadarshan to reunite for a multilingual project

The super hit director-actor combo of the Malayalam film industry, Mohanlal and Priyadarshan, will be reuniting again for a multilingual project that will be made in five languages. Producer Santhosh T Kuruvilla, who is also bankrolling Priyadarshan’s upcoming Tamil project Nimir, has made the news public in his Facebook post.

He described collaborating with the actor-director duo was his childhood dream. “My dream from childhood is to make a film with this two legends…it will happen in 2018 and it will be a mass movie in five language..(sic),” read his Facebook post.

Last year, the duo delivered a crime thriller called Oppam, in which Mohanlal essayed a role of a blind security guard with uncanny skills. The film was a blockbuster at the worldwide box office, adding to the winning streak of Mohanlal. The Malayalam superstar delivered five blockbusters in five months. Janatha Garage, Oppam, Pulimurugan, Manyam Puli and Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, which was his first release in 2017, all went on to take the box office by storm.

Mohanlal is currently awaiting the release of Villain, which is set to hit the screens later this month. He is also shooting for Odiyaan. And Priyadarshan is shooting Nimir with actor Udayanidhi Stalin in the lead role.

Nimir is the official remake of Malayalam hit Maheshinte Prathikaram, which was helmed by director Dileesh Pothen. The film also stars Parvatii Nair and Samuthirakani in important roles.
