Bhopal: Suspension of Mungaoli college principal has exposed the anti-dalit face of BJP, said PCC schedule caste committee chairman Sunrendra Choudhary here on Friday.
MP higher education department on Wednesday suspended the a college principal, a dalit, in the Ashoknagar district for “promoting” a particular party and attached him to the Government PG College in Shahdol district. The decision invited sharp criticism from the Congress leaders who demanding immediate revocation of the suspension order, submitted a memorandum to Governor on Friday.
The principal of Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Government College of Mungaoli in Ashoknagar district, Dr BL Ahirwar was suspended by the government for holding the programme which was attended by the local Congress MP and former union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Tuesday.
Addressing media persons, the former minister Choudhary claimed that the principal has been suspended on false ground. “No hoardings were installed on the college premises and no political discussion took place and no proposals were made in favour of Congress party during the programme where Scindia interacted with students”. Although the hoardings were installed outside the gates of the college, he added.
“If the department had found any irregularity in the conduct of the principal, it should have first issued a show cause notice demanding explanation. And if not satisfied with the principal’s reply they should have taken further action.” However, the authorities did not follow any procedure and instantly suspended the dalit principal, he charged.
Congressmen reached governor house and submitted the memorandum to the governor’s staff demanding to cancellation of his suspension order.
BJP complaints against Scindia
BJP has filed a complaint with Election Commission against Lok Sabha MP Jyotiraditya Scindia. MLA Rameshwar Sharma and other party leaders visited the office and handed over the complaint to authorities. They have accused Scindia of violating model code of conduct by holding a function at a government college.
