TIRUPATI: A family of four from Tiruppur in Tamil Nadu was killed in a ghastly road mishap on Srikalahasti-Tirupati road at Chatterjee Nagar in front of Lanco Ferrus factory on Friday evening.
A speeding lorry collided head-on with the car, that was coming towards Tirupati from Srikalahasti. The impact of the collision was such that the car flipped over several times and fell in the roadside fields. The lorry also overturned on the road leading to traffic jam on the highway for nearly two hours.

All the four occupants of the car died on the spot. Their bodies were stuck in the badly mangled car. Srikalahasti rural police rushed to the spot and after much effort retrieved the bodies from the car wreckage. The deceased were identified as A Sundaramurthy (50), an electrical engineer in a private firm in Tamil Nadu, his wife S Sumathi (49), daughter S Mallika (27), an engineering student, and S Karan (12), a sixth class student.
