Alleges he was thrashed; cops say no visible injury marks

A Jain guru who was allegedly kidnapped from north Delhi’s Roop Nagar area on Thursday was found in Ludhiana on Saturday morning after which the Delhi Police were informed.

Guru Gani Ranjendra Vijay was recovered from Ludhiana when the police reached the Guru Kripa Kirana store where he was found by the roadside.

“Station House Officer of Burari Police Station and his team found him and got his medical examination done from Civil Hospital in Sahnewal after which he was brought to the Capital for further proceedings,” said Ludhiana Commissioner of Police R.N. Dhoke.

Injected with sedative

During initial investigation, the guru told the Police that he was on his way to his ashram in Roop Nagar when someone stopped him on the pretext of talking to him after which the person allegedly injected him with a sedative.

Next, he claimed, he found himself on the road in Ludhiana.

He called police

The guru then stopped a passerby to make a call to the police and his followers to inform them of his whereabouts. The guru alleged that he was thrashed, however, the police said that there were no visible injuries on his body but he complained of pain.
