Mumbai police arrested Paramjeet Singh

GURUGRAM: Mumbai police has taken suspended head constable Paramjeet Singh Ahlawat on transit remand for interrogation in gangster Sandeep gadoli fake encounter case. The accused cop was proclaimed offender by the Mumbai police in Gadoli case and was recently arrested for running an illegal casino in South City-1 that was raided on October 8.

As per information given by Gurgaon police about the arrest of suspended head constable Paramjeet Singh Ahlawat earlier, a five member's team led by inspector A B Pokhar, head of detection crime branch, CID unit-X, Andheri, Mumbai reached the Sector 40 police station on Saturday around 9:00am. The local police was going to produce the accused in a city court after the completion of his two days police remand. In meantime a senior member of Mumbai police team, additional inspector Vaheed Pathan, moved the police commissioner office and informed them about taking the accused on production warrant and completed paper work for it. Mumbai police team took Ahlawat on two days transit remand as soon as the city court formalities were dealt with."


"Ahlawat was a proclaimed offender and wanted by Mumbai police. We have handed him over to Mumbai police as the city court granted two days transit remand. A Mumbai police team went with the accused to Mumbai," said inspector Sudhir Kumar, SHO, Sector 40 police station.


Until he was suspended, Ahlawat was a head constable in the Gurgaon police. He was suspended when the Mumbai police accused him of being involved in the alleged encounter of gangster Sandeep Gadoli in Mumbai on February 7, 2016. A total of eight people were booked in that case, which included five cops. Six accused had been arrested earlier and now Ahalawt has also been taken into remand by Mumbai police. The last of the eight accused, Manoj Gujjar, brother of jailed gangster Binder Gujjar, is still absconding in Gadoli case. According to sources privy to the investigation, Manoj, Gujjar was also one of the investors of the casino run by Ahlawat . Though the police did not confirmed it


Meanwhile three more cops are under scanner for their involvement with the main accused, Ahlawat . It may be noted that two cops were suspended on Thursday, and a departmental inquiry was initiated against them. Police commissioner Sandeep Khirwar said that the investigation is on and further action will be taken as per the results of the investigation.
