Meizu appears to be working on a new smartphone called Meizu M5X shortly. The smartphone has just made an appearance on the benchmarking site Geekbench.
As expected the Geekbench listing has revealed some key specs of the Meizu M5X. Judging from the listed specs, it is probably going to be a budget smartphone. Unfortunately, details such as camera configuration, battery capacity, internal storage space are still unknown. However, we expect the device make more appearances on other benchmark sites as well as in leaks in the upcoming days.
According to the Geekbench listing, the Meizu M5X is powered by a hexa-core processor by Qualcomm that is clocked at 1.65GHz. While the name of the chipset is not specified, it is likely to be the Snapdragon 617 SoC. This makes us wonder why Meizu has decided to use a processor which was launched back in 2015.
Moving on, the Meizu smartphone is listed with 3GB of RAM. The only other information that has been revealed is, the M5X runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat operating system. The company may also use its own custom UI on top.
The device has scored 1409 points in the single-core test, while in the multi-core test it has received the score of 3795 points. Since Meizu M5X has already visited Geekbench, it won't be long before the smartphone makes its way to other benchmark sites.
We expect the company to launch the smartphone without much fanfare and by the beginning of November. It is worth noting that the Meizu had last launched a smartphone in August.
