BENGALURU: In an emabarassing turn of events for the Congress, AICC in-charge for Karnataka, K C Venugopal's name appeared in connection to the solar panel scam in neighbouring Kerala.

Prime accused in the solar panel scam case Saritha Nair named K C Venugopal among others who had sexually assaulted her.

BJP Mahila Morcha protest

Members of the BJP Mahila Morcha protested against AICC general secretary and in-charge of party affairs in Karnataka K C Venugopal on Friday near Gandhi Statue in Gandhi Nagar. Former DCM R Ashok and other leaders also participated in the protest.


When the BJP was in power, allegations of scams, watching blue films in assembly by BJP MLAs, BJP minister went to jail on sex scandal and Congress campaigned effectively against the ruling party. Now it is the saffron party's turn to pay back Congress in the same coin.


As Congress is preparing for the next election, Venugopal's sex scandal came as a major shock. The senior leader is overseeing the party's election campaign in Karnataka. Chief minister Siddaramaiah has claimed on numerous ocassions that his government is free from corruption and other malfeasance. So, now the question is how the state Congress will respond to the serious allegations against Venugopal.


Some Congress leaders are demanding Venugopal's removal from the responsibility of Congress in-charge on account of moral dignity. They've also suggested to bring in clean leaders to monitor the party's election campaign.
