‘RPF personnel’ held for robbing passengers

KALYAN: A 31-year-old man, Aakash Jadhav, was arrested on Friday for posing as a Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel and robbing commuters travelling on long-distance trains.
Jadhav, a Kolhapur resident, was caught during a patrolling drive undertaken by the RPF to curb robberies on long-distance trains. On Friday, constable Prakash Deore boarded Vidharbha Express train in plain clothes and spotted Jadhav checking tickets.
Sandeep Ombase, senior inspector of Kalyan RPF crime said, "When Deore saw Jadhav snatching a commuter's cellphone and cash, he immediately alerted the Igatpuri GRP."
