NEW DELHI: Cadsys (up 19.97 per cent), SAL Steel (up 19.23 per cent), Sundaram Multi (up 18.75 per cent), Sterling Bio (up 17.07 per cent) and Global Offshore (up 16.43 per cent) jumped over 15 per cent in Friday's trade, reflecting the bullish market sentiment.

Shekhawati Poly (up 14.29 per cent), Mold Tek Tech (up 13.66 per cent), TCI Express (up 13.47 per cent), Polyplex Corp (up 12.34 per cent) and Electrostl Cast (up 12.04 per cent) surged over 12 per cent.

Equity benchmarks were firm, underpinned by sustained buying in telecom, metal, bank and IT stocks.

The BSE Sensex was 260 points up at 32,443, while the Nifty50 index was 74 points up at 10,170 around 1.35 pm (IST).

Pharma and FMCG stocks, however, appeared dull. ITC, Dabur, Hindustan Unilever, Sun pharma, Divi's Lab and Dr Reddy's were trading in the red.

With gains of 8 per cent, Bharti Airtel was leading the Nifty50 index. The scrip got traction after the Tata Group agreed to sell its mobile business to Bharti Airtel for free.

Tata Steel, ICICI Bank, Coal India, HDFC Bank, Power Grid Corporation, Axis Bank and Tata Motors were among the top gainers.

ITC, NTPC, Mahindra & Mahindra, Adani Ports and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation were the top losers.

On the NSE, 912 stocks were advancing whereas 723 stocks were lagging and 337 stocks were appearing unchanged.
