The conversation Vijay had with Anitha's family when the latter visited the family was finally revealed by her brother Mani Rathinam.

Pictures of Tamil star Vijay's visit to pay condolences to Anitha's family had gone viral on social media last month.

In September Vijay visited the family of Anitha, who reportedly committed suicide, as she was denied a medical seat despite securing high marks in her 12th board exam.

According to reports from Behindwoods, Mani Rathinam (Anitha's brother) revealed the conversation he had with 'Mersal' actor during his visit.

The reports revealed that Vijay told Mani Rathinam, "Even I had a sister once, so I know how painful it must be for you to lose a sister. I wanted to visit you earlier but because of the crowd and other issues, my visit got delayed. I will give you my number; you could contact me for any help. I could even take care of your younger brother's education expenses."

The fans of the actor were also vocal on Twitter and Facebook about Anitha's death.

S Anitha (17), a medical aspirant from the backward Ariyalur district of Tamil Nadu, was found dead at her home on September 1. She had argued in the Supreme Court recently against National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) score being sought to be the sole basis for medical admissions.

Her death fuelled statewide protests against NEET exam.

Anitha, daughter of casual labourer T Shanmugham (60), scored 1,176 out of 1,200 marks in Class XII examinations on the State board syllabus in Tamil medium. But in NEET, a national test based on CBSE syllabus which she was not familiar with, she managed only a percentile of 86.
