The North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) has entered into an agreement with a Public Sector Union (PSU) bank for real-time transfer of salaries to the accounts of its employees, the civic body on Thursday said.
The partnering bank, Union Bank of India, and technology firm Tech Mahendra will also facilitate the process, it said.
"This process would mean that salaries would be sent to employees with a click of a button and without any further manual intervention," the NDMC said in a statement.
With this system in place, the NDMC will transfer salaries worth Rs 221 cr to its approximately 57,000 employees in real time, it said.
The civic body said the decision is a significant step towards digitisation and will improve the satisfaction and efficiency of the employees.
