BENGALURU: Four people have been arrested by the Bengaluru city police investing the disappearance of a one-year-old boy on October 5 near Hegdenagar.

The accused were identified as Mohammed Noorulla (23), Isaq Khan (19), Abdul Wahid (24), residents of Govindapura in K G Halli and Shahanaz Khanam (36), resident of Bharathi Nagar.

According to the police a special team was formed to rescue the child and track his kidnappers. The boy, Abhiram, has now been rescued and is with his parents Doddabheemaiah and Maheshwari.

According to the police, the team had also opened fire on one of the accused during the rescue operation.  “Noorulla attacked the police head constable Abdul Hameed. In response to which, inspector Hariyappa shot at Noorulla's leg during the operation to nab him and rescue the child,” the police said.

Investigations revealed Shanaz Khanam, one of the accused in the case, was a widow. She later married Fairoz Khan, who is a resident of Gowripalya.

Initially, he used to give money for the family expenses but later he stopped.

Khanam assumed that it would easy to get money from him if she convinces him that she had given birth to a child. She then approached her daughter's friend Noorulla and asked him to bring a baby from a hospital if somebody was not in a condition to raise the child.

Noorulla along with his two associates kidnapped Abhiram while he was playing near his house and handed over him to Khanam.

Noorulla had confessed that he handed over Abhiram to Khanam.
