Pak-UK Army chiefs discuss ways to bolster defence cooperation

Army Chief General Nicholas Patrick Carter today Army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa and discussed ways to strengthen bilateral security and defence cooperation between the two forces.

General Carter arrived here on a two-day official visit to the country went to Army Headquarters in and called on General Bajwa, the Army said in a statement.


"Matters of mutual interest including strengthening of bilateral security and defence cooperation between the two Armies were discussed during the meeting," it said.

Acknowledging Army's achievements in fight against and continued efforts for peace and stability in the region, General Carter said that greatly appreciates Pakistan's sacrifices in this regard, the statement said.

Earlier, the Army's Chief of General Staff laid a wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada after arriving at the Army Headquarters.

General Carter, who was given the guard of honour by a contingent of Army, also addressed participants of the National Security and War Course at the National Defence University.
