The Panchkula district court on Friday sent jailed Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim's adopted daughter Honeypreet Singh to 14 day judicial custody. Her accomplice Sukhdeep Kaur has also been sent to judicial custody till 23 October.

The police informed the district court that they recovered a mobile phone from Honeypreet but did not find any laptop, ANI reported. The development comes after Honeypreet was arrested on 3 October after evading arrest for 38 days. The Dera chief's key accomplice had also confessed to her role in inciting the violence in Panchkula that claimed 38 lives.

She told the special investigation team of Haryana Police that she prepared guide maps of the town of Panchkula before the riots broke out, reported India Today. Police had said guide maps and deployment charts are saved in a laptop, which the police is yet to recover.
Earlier, the police sought a nine-day remand of Honeypreet but the court after hearing arguments sent her to three days in police custody, which ended on Friday. Police sought Honeypreet's remand on the ground that they wanted to take her to other states like Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh.
On 4 October, the court had sent Honeypreet and Kaur to six days in police custody. Honeypreet and Kaur were produced before the Panchkula court amid tight security on Friday.
During the six-day remand, Honeypreet and Kaur were taken to Bathinda by the Haryana Police where she was reportedly hiding before her arrest.
Honeypreet and Kaur were questioned by the Haryana Police in connection with the violence that followed the sect head's conviction on 25 August.
Honeypreet was at the top of a list of 43 people "wanted" by the state police in connection with the violence. The Haryana Police had on September 1 issued a look-out notice against Honeypreet and another key aide of the Dera chief, Aditya Insan, following apprehensions that they might try to "escape from the country".
She had accompanied the Dera head when he was brought to the special CBI court in Panchkula for the pronouncement of the verdict in the 15-year-old rape case. She also travelled along with him in a special chopper which ferried them to Rohtak from Panchkula after the conviction.
