Phase one of the new terminal offers a capacity of 30 million passengers; phase 2, 45 million by 2025; and phase 3, 80 million passengers by 2035.

The terminal has a total floor area of more than 810,000 sq meters in phase 1.

There will be 94 gates available for domestic and international operations. Forty-seven gates will have airbridges to the terminal building, four of which will serve code F aircraft, including Airbus A380s and Boeing 747-8Is.

Jeddah Airport will open a new state-of-the-art terminal May 1, 2018. The new facility will, for the first time, give Saudi Arabian Airlines an ideal infrastructure to operate a hub; the carrier plans to revamp operations from October 2018 onward.
