Jodhpur: The Rajasthan High Court on Thursday issued notice to the state government seeking reply in relation to the encounter of gangster Anandpal Singh by the police. The petition was moved by Raj Kanwar, the wife of slain gangster. The court has sought reply by October 27.
In her petition, Kanwar termed the encounter as fake and sought an investigation into the matter. The petitioner alleged that the state government had not complied with the guidelines of the Supreme Court with respect to the police encounter.
Her counsel Govardhan Singh argued in the court that neither an FIR has been registered by the police given by Raj Kanwar in the matter so far nor an impartial investigation is being conducted in the matter.
He alleged that since the police itself is accused in the encounter, no action or investigation has been initiated in the matter till now.
"We brought to the notice of the court that neither the police has obtained any call recording data or tower locations pertaining to the encounter nor any CCTV footages have been obtained from all the cameras installed at the toll posts between Haryana and Ratangarh," Singh said.
AAG Shiv Kumar Vyas said that this petition has already been rejected by the lower court after which the petitioner moved the high court.
Hearing the arguments, Justice Bhandari issued notice to the state government seeking reply in the matter by October 27.
