Neha Dhupia.

Neha Dhupia.

Neha Dhupia has always believed in being herself and is a person of strong views. The actor, who will soon be seen on the silver screen in ‘Tumhari Sulu’, has been busy with her Bollywood podcast #NoFilterNeha on the music app ‘Saavn’. The actor took some time off her busy schedule to chat with Tini Sara Anien, about her show, movies and life in general.

You’ve been wearing many hats...

#NoFilterNeha keeps me busy as I am the co-creator, co-producer and the show presenter. It looks like one job but it really isn’t.

The last season of #NoFilterNeha was quite eventful. Who were your favourite celebrities on the show?

Everyone! Each person brought their own traits to the show. Karan Johar has been my favourite. I also loved the episode with Rishi Kapoor. The episode with Farhan Akhtar was very pleasant. He is a great storyteller. Parineeti has been super charming.

Who were the fun guys on the show?

That has to be Varun and Ranveer. Varun is as humble as he gets. Ranveer, well, when he comes in, there’s everything else that comes along with him (laughs).

A celebrity you want on your show...

Shah Rukh Khan! He’s number one on my list. He has the gift of the gab and is super witty. Why wouldn’t anyone want to have Shah Rukh Khan on a show in the most unfiltered way?

How witty are you?

I would like to believe I am witty (laughs)! But more than that, I am very light-headed. I don’t worry about things that are not in my control. This is why I have a humorous approach to things that can go wrong and that is almost nine out of 10 situations.

Tell us about your role in ‘Tumhari Sulu’.

When I did ‘Tumhari Sulu’, it felt like switching between real and reel life. It’s a comedy and I play the head of a radio station. From doing a podcast in real life to acting as a professional in a radio station, it was a phenomenal experience.

What attracts you to a project?

A great bunch of people to work with, something substantial for me to do in the project and great laughs. I’m not the type of person who wants to move mountains or promise big things.

A genre that you want to work with.

I love sports-related biopics. My unfulfilled dream was to be an athlete. Every time I fall flat on my face, I just pick myself and keep going. I have great sportsman spirit.

Things you would be incomplete without...

My daily calls to my parents and my workout sessions.

What is on your mind when you are in front of the camera?

I always tell myself that I am going to be myself. I can’t put up an act.
