New Zealand team visits greenfield stadium

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Top officials of New Zealand cricket team visited the city to review the security and stay of team ahead of the T20 cricket match with India which will be held at Greenfield Stadium on  November 7. The manager of New Zealand team Micheal Sandle J and security officer Ian David Snare visited the stadium. They expressed their satisfaction with the arrangement, said a press statement from Kerala Cricket Association. They had flown down from Mumbai.

The team consisting of BCCI cricket operations Amit Siddheshwar, chairman of KCA security committee Karthik Verma, convenor Johnson, convenor of stadium committee Jayan, sports facilities in-charge Muthanna and general manager of Kerala Cricket Association Renji Thomas visited the facilities.
The stadium visit was followed by a visit to the Leela Hotel where the players are staying. New Zealand members spoke with the hotel management and enquired about the arrangement. The team will also review the transportation arrangement from the hotel to the stadium 26 km away.

In the evening the team met state Police Chief Lokanath Behera, Thiruvananthapuram range Inspector General Manoj Abraham, City Police Commissioner P Prakash and discussed security arrangements for the match. The Federal bank will sell  match t  ckets through its branches. A formal memorandum of understanding will be signed between bank and Kerala Cricket Association on October 12.
