The Allahabad High Court is expected to deliver its verdict on Thursday on an appeal filed by Rajesh and Nupur Talwar challenging a CBI court order convicting them for the murder of their daughter Aarushi and domestic help Hemraj in 2008.
The couple were awarded life sentence by a special CBI court in Ghaziabad on November 26, 2013, a day after their conviction.

Mishra says any appeal by the CBI would merely be a 'futile exercise'.
Defence lawyer Pinaki Mishra says he has no doubt that the murderers are still walking free.
The Talwars' lawyer says 'honour has been restored to the slain'.
The couple was first convicted of murdering their daughter by a special CBI court in November 2013. CBI, which was tasked with investigating the case, had argued for capital punishment for the dentist couple arguing the murder to be in ‘the rarest of rare’ category. However the court had sentenced Nupur and Rajesh Talwar to life.
A lawyer for the Talwars says he expected the acquittal as the evidence against the couple did not hold water. Says he hopes his clients will be released by tomorrow.
"Once a certified copy of the verdict arrives, the Talwars will be released within half an hour," the Dasna Jail Superintendent says.
The Talwars will only be released when the Ghaziabad jail gets a copy of the High Court's order, will could take till Friday.
CBI REACTION
The CBI says it is waiting for the copy of the judgement and will decide their next course of action after studying it.
The jailor at Dasna tells News-18 that the Talwars said they felt that justice had been served after the verdict was read out.
The full order of the judgement is not available yet, so there is no clarity on whether another probe has been ordered.
A reminder that Rajesh and Nupur Talwar were not in the courtroom when the verdict was announced. They were watching the proceedings from Dasna jail, where they have been lodged since being convicted in November 2013.
CASE NOT CLOSED
The Talwars will walk out of the Dasna jail soon, nearly four years after being given life terms. However, the CBI is expected to challenge today's acquittal in the Supreme Court.
KILLER STILL NOT IDENTIFIED
The court has acquitted the Talwars on the grounds that there was no concrete proof against them. However, the mystery of who killed Aarushi and Hemraj continues and it remains to be seen if further investigation is ordered.
We have always known that they (the Talwars) are not guilty, says Aarushi's grandfather.
I am humbled by the verdict, says Rebecca John, lawyer for Talwars.
HC'S REASONING
The Allahabad High Court said that the prosecution had failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the Talwars had murdered their daughter.
The court said that Aarushi's parents should be given the benefit of the doubt.
TALWARS ACQUITTED
Rajesh and Nupur Talwar found not guilty.
The judgement is now being read out.
The verdict should be announced anytime now. Stay tuned.
Among the Talwars' contentions in their defence was that the investigation had become 'too personal'.

TALWARS NOT IN COURTROOM
Rajesh and Nupur Talwar will not be in the courtroom for the verdict. They will watch the proceedings on a TV in the Dasna jail where they are currently lodged.
BG Chitnis, Nupur Talwar's father, speaks to News18: "I am hoping that Aarushi's parents are acquitted. And I am hoping this not as a father of Nupur Talwar and as a grandfather of Aarushi Talwar, but as someone who has observed the case- based on hard evidence and the findings of the first CBI team. We are hoping that the parents will be declared not guilty."
