BJP to hold first state executive meet in Kashmir this month

The will organise its first state executive meet in Kashmir later this month in which more than 300 party workers will participate and review the functioning of the coalition government, a party official said today.

During the meeting on October 28 and 29, the party will also discuss the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, which it governs with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).


BJP's in-charge Avinash Rai Khanna and national-general secretary Ram Madhav will participate in the meet, Narinder Singh, its state general secretary, told PTI.

"It would the first such meeting of the party in Kashmir," he said.

Singh said the functioning of the state unit and its ministers in the would be reviewed. The meeting will also review the security situation and programmes of the party and the government, he said.

Thirteen committees have been formed for the smooth conduct of the meet. "These committees were given different tasks to ensure a hassle-free conduct of the meet," he said.

"On October 28, there will be state office-bearers meet, which would be followed by state executive meet on 29," he said.
