The intense competition in the telecom market is getting further heated up, thanks to incumbent operators and new entrant Reliance Jio. Telecom major Bharti Airtel is offering a whopping 50GB data in a special offer for postpaid customers, according to the official website of the company. The plan also offers unlimited local and STD calls, besides free roaming for incoming and outgoing calls. The data being offered is with 3G/4G speed and it can also be rolled over to the next month.

Jio's Rs 399 Diwali offer for prepaid users
The offer from Airtel comes immediately after Jio launched a special Diwali offer under its Rs 399 plan for prepaid users. Known as Jio Diwali Dhan Dhana Dhan Offer, the offer on Rs 399 recharge pack, starts from today and will be valid for 7 days till October 18, one day before Diwali. During this cashback offer period if you recharge your Jio number with the Rs 399 recharge pack, then you will get eight coupons of Rs 50 totalling Rs 400, or a 100 per cent cashback. These coupons can be redeemed after November 15, on recharge of Rs 309 or higher denomination recharge pack.

Yesterday, Airtel launched a smartphone to counter JioPhone, a low-cost feature phone being launched by Jio which aims to grab a bigger pie of the 50 crore feature phone users market in India.
Airtel's 4G smartphone comes at an effective price of Rs 1,399 in partnership with domestic handset manufacturer Karbonn. The company is offering Karbonn A40 4G smartphone at an effective price of Rs 1,399 compared to its current market price of Rs 3,499. The smartphone comes bundled with a monthly pack of Rs 169 from Airtel, which offers "generous data and calling benefits".
