NEW DELHI: Shares of Hindalco Industries (number of shares traded: 0.25 crore), Sun Pharma (0.24 crore) and Bharti Infratel (0.23 crore) were trading as the most active stocks in terms of volume on NSE in Thursday's trade.

Bank stocks dominated the pack as Bank of Baroda (0.20 crore), ICICI Bank (0.16 crore), Punjab National Bank (0.12 crore), State Bank of India (0.12 crore) and YES Bank (0.10 crore) were also in the league.

ITC (0.10 crore), Reliance Industries (0.09 crore), Vedanta (0.09 crore), Ashok Leyland (0.08 crore) were the other stocks in the league in that order.

Benchmark indices were in the positive zone amid mixed cues from other Asian markets.

The Nifty50 index was trading 27 points up at 10,011, while BSE Sensex was up 74 points at 31,908 around 09:45 am (IST).

In the Nifty index, Bharti Infratel (up 4.46 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (up 2.51 per cent), Hindalco Industries (up 1.66 per cent), Tech Mahindra (up 1.37 per cent), GAIL (India) (up 1.37 per cent), HCL Technologies (up 1.13 per cent) and Lupin (up 1.10 per cent) were the top gainers.

However, Bharti Airtel (down 1.15 per cent), ICICI Bank (down 0.73 per cent), Coal India (down 0.69 per cent), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone (down 0.67 per cent) and Tata Motors (down 0.65 per cent) were losing in trade.

On the NSE, 1051 stocks were advancing, compared with 443 stocks declining and 463 stocks remaining unchanged.
