Market Now: Sensex, Nifty trade higher; Bharti Infratel rises 4%

NEW DELHI: Shares of Bharti Infratel (up 4.01 per cent), Hindalco Industries (up 3.19 per cent), NTPC (up 1.80 per cent), Sun Pharma (up 1.80 per cent), Vedanta (up 1.52 per cent), Lupin (up 1.46 per cent) and Reliance Industries (up 1.14 per cent) were trading up in Thursday's morning trade.
Equity benchmarks Sensex and Nifty50 were in the positive territory amid mixed Asian cues. Metal, pharma and IT stocks were catching investors' attention.
The Nifty50 index was 33 points up at 10,018, while Sensex was 96 points up at 31,930, around 10.10 am (IST).

However, Bharti Airtel (down 1.19 per cent), UltraTech Cement (down 0.80 per cent), Asian Paints (down 0.78 per cent), ICICI Bank (down 0.56 per cent), Cipla (down 0.52 per cent) and Tata Motors (down 0.41 per cent) were losing in trade.
Shares of Hindalco Industries, Sun Pharma, Bharti Infratel, Bank of Baroda, ICICI Bank, Punjab National Bank, State Bank of India and YES Bank were trading as the most active stocks in terms of volume on NSE in Thursday's trade.
On the NSE, 1108 stocks were advancing, compared with 426 stocks declining and 425 stocks remaining unchanged.
