- Aarushi was found dead inside her room in the Talwars' Noida residence with her throat slit in May 2008.
- Nupur and Rajesh Talwar have been serving their sentence in Ghaziabad's Dasna jail.

Besides Anand, Lucknow-based Swati Bajpai launched social media initiatives to bolster the campaign. She created three accounts on Twitter and Facebook and identified people who refused to buy the CBI's findings. Soon Bajpai's posts went viral, and many people from across the globe have joined the online campaign - Justice4aarushi - in order to push for speedy trial.
They had an uphill task, especially since the CBI had already concluded its probe holding Rajesh and Nupur Talwar guilty for their daughter's murder.
Bajpai sat in front of the television set since Thursday morning. At 3pm when the verdict acquitting the Talwars came, her stand was vindicated. "I could not scream because I was in office. But I started jumping with joy. My colleagues were happy as well. They know I was following the case passionately. I don't personally know the Talwars. But the CBI probe had loopholes," says Bajpai.
Bajpai says three strangers - Radhika Rachwani from Michigan, Anand and Ganan Priya from Bengaluru - began, the campaign, along with her, to expose the CBI. They are now her friends.
