Nivin Pauly to play theatre legend N N Pillai in biopic by Rajeev Ravi

Actor Nivin Pauly is all set to essay theatre legend NN Pillai onscreen.

Actor Nivin Pauly will be soon seen as legendary actor and writer NN Pillai in an upcoming film directed by Rajeev Ravi.

The news was announced by cinematographer turned director Rajeev Ravi on Wednesday, which was Nivin Pauly's birthday.

The screenplay for the film has been written by Gopan Chidambaram and Madhu Neelakandan will crank the camera.

E4 Entertainment, which produced films like 'Ezra', 'Godha' and 'Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi' will bankroll the project.

N Narayana Pillai (23 Nov 1918 - 14 Nov 1995) was an actor, director and writer, who has written over 30 plays, 40 one-act plays, two thearetical studies and an autiobiography.

His autobiography titled 'Njaan' is an account of his travel to Burma, Malaysia, his campaigning for Indian National Army as well as his tryst with the stage in Kerala. Pillai has also acted in films like 'Godfather' (1991), 'Nadodi' (1992) and a Telugu film 'Peddarikam' in 1992.

Taking to Facebook, Nivin Pauly wrote:
Here comes a late but a good news to share with you all! I am extremely happy to be associated for an exciting project with the one & only master craftsman Rajeev Ravi! This is truly an honour! Indeed blessed.

His son, Vijayaraghavan is a popular Malayalam movie actor.
 
Nivin Pauly was recently seen in the box office hit 'Njandukalude Naattil Oridavela' and is currently working on 'Kayamkulam Kochunni', based on the life of the legendary Kerala Robin-Hood with the same name.

Pauly is also awaiting the release of his first direct Tamil film - 'Richie', a remake of Rakshit Shetty's neo-noir film 'Ulidavaru Kandanthe'.
