A complaint has been registered with the Lokayukta against Shivamurthy Naik, Congress MLA from Mayakonda constituency in Davangere district, for abusing Rajendra Kumar Kataria, the commerce and industries secretary.

The MLA had abused the officer for not granting a granite mining licence to his son Suraj S Naik. Siddalingegowda, a native of Tumakuru, had filed a complaint saying that dedicated and sincere officers were being abused by some elected representatives.
