SRINAGAR: Asoldier and a civilian porter working with the Army were killed as the armies of India and Pakistan exchanged fire along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Army said Pakistan started unprovoked firing with small arms and automatic weapons in the afternoon, and that this continued intermittently through the day. The firing was reported near Chakan Da Bagh area where cross LoC trade centre is also located.

The cross LoC trade from Poonch and bus service have been suspended for three months now.
