After bus attack, Adam Zampa reveals why it’s ‘hard to travel’ in India
Australian cricket team spinner Adam Zampa says Indian fans are so passionate that it’s hard to travel in India. The leg-spinner was in the bus which was damaged by a rock throwing incident in Guwahati after the India-Australia second T20I

The Australian cricket team left their Indian counterparts rattled in the second T20I with a spirited show in Guwahati on Tuesday. But on their way back after the series levelling win, their joy was overturned into a scary situation when a rock was thrown at the team bus.
The vehicle was damaged as a glass panel was broken. Though no player was injured, it left the Australian players zapped as it was the second time in two months that their bus was attacked. In September, a rock was thrown at their bus during a Test match in Chittagong, Bangladesh.

Leg-spinner Adam Zampa, who accounted for the wickets of MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav in the victory, said it was a disappointing incident.

“I had my headphones on quite loud and was looking towards the other side of the bus,” Zampa said in a video. “I just heard this loud bang. It was a pretty scary five seconds or so. Our security guard mentioned quite quickly that it might have been a rock. It was a pretty scary incident. You never want those things to happen. It was disappointing.”

‘Hard to travel’
Zampa added that because of the passionate nature of the fans in India, it is sometimes hard to travel. He, however, added that the rock-throwing incident did not reflect the true mood of majority of the fans.
“Everyone was alright. After what happened in Bangladesh with the rock as well, no one was too rattled. It was dealt with quite well,” Zampa said.

“The Indian fans are so great to us, which is one of the reasons why it’s so hard to travel here. They’re so loud, they love cricket and they’re so passionate about it. Guwahati doesn’t get much cricket as it is, so for one person to do that and to spoil it for the rest of the Indian fans, it’s pretty disappointing.”
