Special counters set up at all police stations

GUNTUR: The police department will start the process of verification of AgriGold victims’ documents in the district from October 12. As per the orders of High Court, the Guntur urban and rural officials are preparing modalities to enrol the names of victims at all police stations in the district.
The rural police will start special counters at 14 centres out of 57 mandals in the district. Five centres at Piduguralla, Amaravati, Phirangipuram, Tsundur and Ponnuru from October 12 and remaining nine centres would be established from October 13.
The police will start the process of verification of bond papers, and other evidence from each mandal. The police will also announce dates village wise for the benefit of the public.The police or revenue officials will announce the date and venue of verification centres online.
After completion of verification, ID number will be given to each customer. Nearly, 55,000 AgriGold customers have already submitted their bond papers and other documents online. Guntur Rural SP Ch V Appala Naidu and Urban SP Ch Vijaya Rao sought the cooperation of customers. The police department officials will start three counters at Police Parade Grounds in the city and six counters at Prathipadu and Mangalagiri police stations.
