Shahid, who is known for going the extra mile to fit into the shoes of a character, has shared a still from Padmavati on his Instagram account. In the still, Shahid’s bare body exposes his chiseled abs and we are stunned at how seamless the actor looks. After looking at the new still, we can surely back the Twitterati for choosing Shahid’s look of Maharawal Ratan Singh over Ranveer Singh’s Allaudin Khilji and Deepika Padukone’s Rani Padmini.

Along with the photo, Shahid has written, “Still waters run deep. He will rise on the 1st of December. Wait for it. #rajputpride.” In Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus, Shahid will be seen as a warrior and Deepika Padukone’s husband. With Shahid and Deepika’s romance, the movie gives the movie buffs a fresh onscreen couple to gush over.

However, apart from the praises from all quarters, the number of views on the trailer of the movie on YouTube has given Team Padmavati another reason to be elated. It has garnered the highest number of views in 24 hours on YouTube for a Hindi trailer. Currently, the total number of views on the trailer stands at 20 million. Happy to see his movie receiving an overwhelming response, Shahid thanked all for their love to Padmavati, He shared the news about the record-breaking views on the trailer and wrote, “Overwhelmed by the love pouring in. Humbled and thankful. Love you all #PadmavatiTrailer @filmpadmavati.”

Ranveer who has won accolades for his ruthless and menacing avatar of Allaudin Khilji also shared the happy news but he also mentioned how the film is beyond any numbers for him. “Although this film, for me, is beyond numbers..this is a pretty amazing record! Congrats to the team! #PadmavatiTrailer @FilmPadmavati,” tweeted Ranveer. On Monday after the trailer of the historical drama was released, it was Baahbubali director SS Rajamouli who was amazed by it. Tweeting about it, the filmmaker said, “Insanely beautiful !!!Each frame etched to perfection by the master craftsman. #PadmavatiTrailer.” Like many, Rajamouli also could not take his eyes off Ranveer as he wrote, “. @RanveerOfficial looks menacing and frightening yet can’t take my eyes off him..”

Releasing on December 1, Padmavati is a fictional account on the life of Rani Padmini as mentioned in Padmavat, an epic Awadhi poem.
