Terms it anti-student, demands passes

Members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) organised a protest at the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) headquarters on Barakhamba Road against the fare hike.

The members said that the fare hike was an anti-student move and demanded special concessionary passes for students.

Delhi State Secretary Bharat Khatana said, “We feel the Centre did not assess the ground reality. It is pinching the pockets of the common man and students.” Some found it ironic that the student wing of the RSS was organising a protest against a move that was sanctioned by the Central government.

Stands up against govt

The ABVP retaliated saying that whenever anti-student policy decisions were taken, it has been in the forefront of such protests.

This in the second time in a month, that the ABVP has taken a stand against the Centre.

It had earlier protested the police crackdown on BHU students.
